UNRULY BEHAVIOR: The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo fdc, has ordered the Provost Marshall of the Command to try the Policemen seen in a viral video, attacking a civilian with a stick, over expired vehicle particulars, on 26 September, 2022, at Akenfa, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Orderly room trial has commenced for Inspector Agip Teiwei and Inspector Bedford Emolade, while ASP Peter Frank has been queried.
Statement by SP Asinim Butswat, Police Public Relations Officer of the Bayelsa State Command insisted that the Nigeria Police Force is a disciplined organization and Bayelsa State Command cannot condone any act of indiscipline by its officers.
NAIJA LIVE TV reported that Some policemen have been caught on tape assaulting two brothers in Bayelsa State.
One of the brothers who caught the assault on the video claimed that the policemen threatened to kill his brother over vehicle papers.
In the video, one of the brothers tackled the policeman, who physically assaulted him, while another policeman warned the other one to stop recording the scene.
The man recording the video said, “This is Nigeria police, threatening to kill my brother because of particulars and driver licence, calling us thieves.”
