Bayelsa LGA Poll: PDP Stalwarts warns party members over anti-party activities

The Yenagoa Local Government Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Goodluck Itu, has warned some party chieftains and members against indulging in anti-party activities, adding that anyone unholy alliance with any other candidate is unacceptable to the party leadership.

Itu, stated this Yesterday, when the Flag bearer of the party in Yenagoa, visited the leadership of the party at the state party secretariat.

The chairman, who also noted that one man’s ambition can’t be bigger than the interest of the party, added that the party at all level expects all stakeholders in the different areas to work with those who emerged flag bearers of the party after the party primaries.

 He called on those who feel aggrieved to respect the peoples’ choice and join force to canvass votes for the party ahead of the forth coming local government elections, adding that it behooves on everyone to work as a team and deliver.

In his brief, Hon. Nimizuoa Uroupaye, flag bearer of the party in Yenagoa, advised the aggrieved persons and all others aspirants to rally round him to ensure the party wins at the general elections, adding that he emerged winner at the primaries not because he is the best amongst them all but because the people spoke in one voice.

Uroupaye, said his experience over the years as a grass root politician was needed for continuation of the development of the metropolis, adding that when he eventually wins the general election empowerment of youths, job creation and agriculture will be his main focus.

He also promised that he will not play politics with the development of the area, adding that he will work with the major stakeholders of the local government to ensuring the internal generated revenue of the area increases.

“We will partner with the state government to ensure the successes achieved by this current government at the agricultural sector will extend to us, we will ensure our local farmers benefit from soft loans given to other farmers. I have been tested and the people trust my experience and performances”
