The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 16th governorship election in Bayelsa state, Hon. David Lyon has condemned the state government for stockpiling funds Meant for development to buy votes.
Speaking at Ukubie during his electioneering campaign tour of the area on Friday, David Lyon said it was an act of man’s inhumanity to man for the state government to budget several billion of naira for the purpose of buying votes.
He explained that no reasonable government would divert resources meant for development to buy votes.
The APC standard bearer advised the electorate to shun money induced voting which is the only game played by the PDP, pointing out that there are innumerable critical areas of need to which such funds could be ploughed.
He said, “I stand for and represent development. We need Roads Power, Potable water, Functional health facilities. A vote for APC whose logo is Broom is a vote for development which I represent.
“In terms of Agriculture, if the Peremanbiri rice farm were functional, it would have boosted our economy, create jobs for our youths and provide enough food for us and others.
“Vote for the APC and get your state back, where you would be fully involved in the governance of the state as we shall not fail to consult you always.”
Responding, the traditional ruler of Ukubie, His Royal Highness James Albert Mboko, Akpalakpa X said when people have been subjected to hardship for long, they would look for anyway to escape from that dehumanizing condition.

Earlier, in his introductory remark, the Alternate Director General of the APC governorship campaign council, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe had said David Lyon and Sen. Degi were divinely imbued with what it takes to cause massive positive change in the State.
Prof. Brisibe who described David Lyon as a Philanthropist noted that the governorship candidate of the APC would serve the People of the State with uncommon passion and dedication.
