The former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar had this afternoon commended the likes of Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, the Senator representing Bauchi South- Bala Mohammed and the Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration- Muhammed Babandede for disclosing their Coronavirus status.
Recall that Senator Bala Mohammed had announced to Nigerians that he had tested positive to the Coronavirus. And just yesterday, Governor Mallam Nasir El-rufai had announced that after waiting patiently for his test result, he had received it yesterday and had tested positive to the virus.
Even as Nigerians are working towards containing the shock, the former presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar had applauded these too politicians for opening up to Nigerians about their status and not hiding same. He stated that by people owning up to the disease and self isolating and in addition to educating Nigerians about the virus, only then will Coronavirus not have any hold on Nigeria and Nigerians:
I wish to recommend the examples of Governors @SenBalaMohammed, @elrufai and CG @nigimmigration Babandede MFR for their disclosure. We can beat this pandemic by being open about it, educating our people, isolation and testing. It is not a death sentence, we will all be fine.
