“Anti-Brambaiyefa protests by faceless groups in Niger Delta, selfish plot, sponsored”—Militant leaders

A coalition of Nine Militant groups in the State of the Niger Delta Region under the aegis of the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA) yesterday condemned as “sponsored” and “Selfish plots” the series of protest against  the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof. Nelson Branbaifa.

According to the RNDA,  despite the sponsored protest by a set of disgruntled criminally minded misinformed people who have lost their place in the genuine agitation in the struggle, the three months management of NDDC under the acting Managing Director,Prof.Nelson Branbaifa is commendable and  is addressing most of the developmental challenges affecting the oil rich long neglected region.

 The RNDA, after a crucial meeting with its various unit  commanders from across the Niger Delta region chaired by the leader,Major General Johnmark Ezonebi AKA Obama, announced that preliminary investigations into the reasons for series of protests against the NDDC and it’s management showed that those behind it are disgruntled and directionless that embarked on a journey for selfish gains designed by their corrupt sponsors .

The RNDA, in a statement issued yesterday and made available to newsmen in Yenagoa, said the appointment of  Professor  Nelson Brambaifa as the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.is commendable, ” we condemn in strong terms the protest by self acclaimed third face or fifth face ex militants against the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC describing them as a set of disgruntled criminally minded misinformed people who have lost their place in the genuine agitation in the struggle hence they are directionless that embarked on a journey for selfish gains designed by their corrupt sponsors” .

“RNDA wish to commend the acting Managing Director of the NDDC for the proper utilization of the available little resources in the Commission within this three months wish has helped in addressing most of the developmental challenges affecting the oil rich long neglected region and this is the first time an elder statesman full of integrity a technocrat has been appointed to manage the NDDC board who is not in there need to acquire wealth to be come a governor neither to become a federal minister or to become a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria after living office wish has been the practice of every other persons who has been appointed to become the MD of the commission or Chairman, and this is the reason why all the trillions allocated by the federal government to the commission has not seeing the light of the day wish has left the entire region under develop to a dark stone.”

“RNDA with the coalition of the nine militant groups that accepted the ceasefire agreement with the federal government on dialogue since on the 21st of August 2016 that has sustained the existing peace in the Creek of the region want to use this median to warne those group of so called third face or fifth face non existed self acclaimed ex militants who has never in any way contributed to the genuine agitation towards the emancipated long neglected people in the Creek to withdrew from there criminally minded sponsored kangaroo protest against the acting Managing Director,”

” And it is now clear that this satanic corrupt leaders who has been feeding fat on the funds meant for the development of the region through NDDC are those behind this senseless meaningless protest last week and is high time we ve to put a stop to all this senseless protests against the acting Managing Director and this should not repeat it self again other wise the RNDA with the coalition of the nine militant groups in the Creek will be left with no option than to smoke them out with there co cowdise corrupt minded criminal elements of leaders that are behind the kangaroo protest or else the RNDA will be forced to declare them wanted and tag them as enemies to president Muhammadu Buhari led APC federal government and also enemies to the Niger Delta region and this group of corrupt leaders are against the good transparent work the acting MD has been doing so far in the commission since he came onboard.”

“The RNDA noted that  it is very pleased with the   genuine efforts  towards the  transformational  policies and programmes  of President Buhari’s led federal government towards the development of the Niger Delta region and reorganisation of the NDDC.”

The Group also agreed that the reorganisation and the transformation of the commission is in order as it would make the Commission meet its  core mandate of developing  the oil producing communities in the Creek across the Niger Delta region,”.The RNDA wish to state emphatically  that the drive and commitment of President Muhammad Buhari in the fight against corruption in the country is highly commendable and Mr president has done well for appointing a true son of Niger Delta a renowned academician Professor Nelson Brambaifa who has enviable clean track record and an educationist with high integrity without corruption scandal.”

The RNDA said the NDDC Acting Managing Director  is committed to work in line with Mr president anti corruption stance  in order to usher in new level of massive infrastructural and  human capital development centred on  youth and rural women empowerment programs across the Niger Delta.

According to the RNDA “it is on record that barely three months when the  Acting Managing Director  came onboard he was able to settle  all the outstanding debt which  the previous administration of the Commission was owed contractors in the which hindered the  development in the region as most project were stopped and abandoned.”

“We sincerely applaud the Acting Managing Directir for the approval and payment of the water hyacinth jobs and for approving the payment of NDDC volunteer youth empowerment programme which the previous administration failedv to implement”.

“This singular action of the Acting NDC Managing Director  elicited wide  jubilation across the entire Niger Delta region more so with zeal of the Commission to  partner with international organizations in other usher massive development that will turn around the face of the region in terms of development” .

The RNDA noted that the Acting Managing Director has brought sanity and transparency by operating an open door policy to accommodate all sons and daughters of the Niger Delta without any bias towards the implementation and  execution of projects by the NDDC.

“The RNDA wish to place on record that the appointment of the NDDC Board and Management is solely rested on the powers of Mr President and he has the power to retain or  reappoint the present Board as clearly stated by the Act that established the Commission clearly states that rotation will be done within the nine States to accommodate every states from the region in the commission”

“And the act those not specify solely on the appointment of the managing director from a particular state in the commission therefore in this regard the RNDA with the coalition of the nine militant groups in the creek that accepted the ceasefire agreement that has maintained the existing peace in the Creek that worked hard in the Creek of the region for the re election of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid urge Mr president to retain and reappoint professor Nelson Brambaifa as the managing director of the commission in.”

The RNDA endorsed  and supported president Muhammadu Buhari because of his clear willingness to develop the Niger Delta region and the RNDA appeal to Mr President  to confirm the appointment of  professor Nelson brambaifa as the Managing Director of NDDC due to his integrity and for working hard tirelessly to reorganize and to transform the Commission transparently without bias.
