The city of Yenegoa was agog by over one thousand Niger Delta Youths who rolled out their drums echoing electrifying support and grand reception upon the arrival of Dr. Dennis Otuaro Administrator Presidential Amnesty Programme in Bayelsa State yesterday.
In what seemed like a colorful carnival, mammoth youths of the Niger Delta Region expressed a vibrant display of solidarity, love and support for Dr. Dennis Otuaro hosting his delegation to a warm reception as he visits Governor Douye Diri and Traditional Rulers in Bayelsa State. The reception attended by various youth groups showcase the deepen relationship and commitment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro to transform the presidential amnesty programme which is a testament of his excellent performance in delivering on the renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
However, Governor Douye Diri when he received the PAP Administrator, Dr Dennis Otuaro, and his delegation in Government House, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The governor stressed that funding was critical for the survival of the presidential amnesty programme.
He advocated the need for state governments and National Assembly members from the Niger Delta to collaborate towards addressing the funding challenges of the PAP to equate inflation and rising economic realities.
The Bayelsa governor cautioned against the call for the scrapping of the programme, saying the issues that led to its establishment have not been addressed.
In his remark, Dr. Dennis Otuaro expressed gratitude to the Bayelsa State Government for the unwavering support and clamour for the success of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. He assured the Bayelsa state helmsman and the people of Niger Delta Region of Presidential Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment of sustaining the programme and his continuous determination to engaging Stakeholders for collaboration to paveway for the actualization of success towards the presidential amnesty programme.
Dr. Dennis Otuaro during his interface with the Traditional Rulers Council of Bayelsa State, stressed that Traditional rulers in the Niger Delta play crucial roles in maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region, emphasizing some of their key roles as: Mediation and Conflict Resolution, cultural custodian, Liaison with Government and Oil Companies,Promotion of Dialogue and Reconciliation, Mobilization for Security Initiatives and advocacy for development.
Dr. Dennis Otuaro assured traditional rulers of his resolve to partner and work in synergy with traditional institution to address issues in the presidential amnesty programme.
Thereafter, reactions trailed from gathering of the overflow of Youths who gathered to chant praises and pledge solidarity for Dr. Dennis Otuaro led PAP at the premises and beyond.
Notably, Gen. Bodmas Kemepadei whose position was unanimously echoed by the teaming Youth supporters berates detractors of the Presidential Amnesty Programme led by Dr. Dennis Otuaro to bow their in shame and desist from selfish plot or face stiff knockdown as the entire youths of goodwill in the Niger region are totally in support of Dr. Dennis Otuaro led PAP.
