FICTION: A Cry For Help In Room 306 And Room 402 In Heaven’s Gate Hotel
James is a young handsome man who is on his early 30s, who has every good thing life could offer.
He is a Masters Degree holder in theatres and Arts. He is an actor and a movie director. He is a nice man and a philanthropist.
James is an orphan, he grew up in an orphanage. when he was 8 years old, Mr and Mrs Eruka adopted him and raised him as their son.
On the night when James was born, his real mother abandoned him in front of the orphanage home. She gave birth to twins, due to how difficult life was for her, she felt she couldn’t raise both twins all by herself, so she felt that the only way out was to abandon her babies.
James was abandoned at the orphanage, while his twin brother John was left with her boyfriend who was a taut. They both were raised in Lagos State, but they never knew about each other.
A time came when John’s friends began to tell him that they have seen a movie with an actor that looks exactly like him. He never took them seriously, not until a day when he went to mama Basira’s joint to eat, then about three people said they recognise him from movies they have watched. John then realised that something must be wrong.
When John got home, he asked his friends to get one of the movies for him to watch and see for himself. After he finished watching the movie, he was convinced that his friends were saying the truth all the while.
The first thing that came to John’s mind was how to seize the opportunity and pretend to be James since people could barely differentiate them.
John started to dress like James. He lodged in a hotel called Heaven’s Gate Hotel, room 306. The room became a special room for him because he usually comes often to lodge in that hotel. He then lures young ladies who want to be featured in movies, who thinks he is the famous movie director, James Eruka.
Heaven’s Gate Hotel is located in Festac Town. It happens to be that James will direct a movie in Festac Town, so the only hotel available within the area was Heaven’s Gate Hotel. James lodged in the hotel in the morning, his room number was room 402, which was directly opposite to room 306.
John booked an appointment with Chioma. Chioma was so excited because she believes that her prayers have finally been answered. She went to the hotel, met the receptionist, and told her who she was looking for. John was informed about his visitor Chioma. Chioma was told his room number, room 306.
James checked into the hotel in the morning, while John checked into the hotel in the evening, different receptionists attended to them.
James and his crew members were already down to business, they were already shooting a movie role inside his hotel room, room 402.
What Chioma thought was going to be a movie role with John turned out to be a setup. John tried to have his way with her. When Chioma realized what was going on, she began to shout, scream and bang at the door shouting for someone to come and help her out.
People gathered outside wondering what was going on. Another lady who was a victim of John on that same day came along with some policemen to arrest John. She claimed that her cry for help happened in room 402. When she got closer to the room, she saw James standing outside with others who were all wondering what was going on. Some were of the opinion to break down the door.
Immediately she saw James, she beckoned at the officers to arrest James who was actually innocent. James was handcuffed. Immediately, the door to room 306 opened and John came out, dressed exactly like James. Everyone was confused because of the striking resemblance. They were so identical that no one could differentiate them. That was when James realized that he has a twin brother all these years.
John then stood beside James, Chioma came out looking all confused. She was asked what happened, but she couldn’t explain. She was still confused as to which of them was with her in room 306.
Everyone is still trying to figure out what actually transpired in both room 306 and room 402.
Moral lesson: ensure to find out information about people before venturing into any kind of business with them to avoid regrets.
