Growing up as a child we were always told in school that we are the leaders of tomorrow, the same leaders we read about in books and
we’re taught in class about their strides are the same ones leading
us today, how can we go forward as a country with diverse ethnicity
and religion?

On the 31st of December 1999 the then president of Russia who was the first president of Russia after the disemancipation of the USSR Boris Yeltsin Who then was just 66 years old decided to step down as president, this came as a surprise to everyone and handed over to his then Prime Minister Vladimir Putin who was just 41 years old and said Russia needed to enter the new millennium with a new leader, a much younger and vibrant leader, leader who is in touch with the newest ideas and technology that drives the world.

At this time in Nigeria, we need leaders who are vibrant and energetic people who can be able to steer the affairs of the position bestowed on them, not leaders who go to the chambers to sleep or conferences and are not online in what is been discussed there.

Leaders who are selfless and willing to bring dividends of democracy to his people.

In this present day and time other countries are spending time thinking of what new technology to innovate or introduce that could change the world, they have a system that works while here in Nigeria we are still battling with Issues like salaries, good roads and portable water, we don’t have a system in place not to talk of it working.

Most of Our leaders of today don’t inspire us, instead they see us the
younger ones as a treat, how then can we grow? A couple if times I
have come up with an innovation and gone to some of them to support in making it a reality but get disappointed, sometimes embarrassingly spoken to.

We as a country are blessed with a lot of talents/gifts in technology,
sports, leadership and others. If the leaders we have placed in positions today have failed to inspire us, all we need to do is simply replace them.

As I earlier said, the world is fast revolving and advancing, we can’t
keep lagging behind, we can’t solve a 21st century problem with a 19th century mindset of thinking.

I come into this race with a lot of ideas and innovations bubbling in my head, I also look to inspire and empower a lot of young people and to also give them opportunities in actualising their dreams and aspirations.
