President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in a security meeting with service chiefs and heads of security agencies at the State House, Abuja.

The meeting is a response to the recent surge in security breaches, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where kidnappers have carried out brutal attacks in recent days.

In attendance are Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and other heads of security outfits.

While there is no official briefing on the meeting, it is expected that President Tinubu and the security chiefs will assess the current security situation in different parts of the country.

The focus is on devising strategies to curb the increasing criminal activities, including kidnappings and banditry.

The meeting follows a security appraisal convened by the Minister of the FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike, who addressed the recent horrors inflicted by kidnappers on residents of the capital. These criminals have engaged in senseless killings and demanded hefty ransoms from their victims.
