Police operatives have taken over the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which is located at Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, amid rumours of a massive protest by party stakeholders.

Various APC groups, particularly in Osun and Kaduna, have recently risen in condemnation of the state’s Ward Congress, accusing the governors of procuring over 18,000 forms through proxies.

Stakeholders in Kwara, Imo, Rivers, and Kaduna have also expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the Ward Congresses.

Over five Hilux Patrol Vans stormed the party, seizing the party secretariat and strategic positions around the Secretariat area.

The battle-ready policemen did not allow any vehicle to park near the APC headquarters, even though motorists and other road users were not allowed to go about their business.

According to a staff member who requested anonymity, the police action could be linked to a protest allegedly planned by some aggrieved party stakeholders from various states.
