Governor Diri’s aide joins APGA, become sole candidate ahead of State Assembly poll

Hon. Waikumo Amakoromo the Former Aide to the Bayelsa State Governor,Senator Douye Diri has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) fee days after dumping the PDP over allege manipulation of the Adhoc delegate election in the state.

Amakoromo, who was the Special Adviser to Governor Douye Diri and the Secetary to the State Petroleum Monitoring Task Force have also emerged as the sole candidate of the Party for the race for the State House of Assembly Yenagoa constituency 2 in the state.

A source close to Waikumo Amakoromo, who confirmed the decision to NAIJA LIVE TV, claimed that the for Governor’s aide to picked up the APGA form and pitched his tent with the All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA), ” Yes, our boss have been cleared by the APGA as the sole Aspirant to run with the flag of the party.”

Hon. Waikumo a former Special Adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson and Immediate past Secretary of the State Petroleum Task Force got the nod of the party after submitting his nomination and expression of interest form procured by his supporters at the APGA National Secretarait in Abuja after completing all requirements of the party.

Dr. Ozonkpu Victor-Ike Oye says Waikumo is an asset to the party and APGA being the third national party in the country is willing to work round the clock to deliver the mandate of the people as represented in the aspirations of Hon. Waikumo Amakoromo.

The new APGA Yenagoa Constituency Two Aspirant is optimistic that his new Political decision will rekindle the hope of the people especially his followers for over 24 years to emerge victorious in the forth coming general polls.

He said as a foundation pillar of the Prosperity Administration under the Leadership of Governor’ Douye Diri his new aspiration and Political Family has nothing to do with his loyalty with Governor’ Douye Diri and Sen. Lawrence Erudjakpo as he admonished his followers to continually work with the governor’s manifesto.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of APGA,Hon. Brisbe H. Kpodoh, described the news of Hon. Waikumo Amakoromo joining the cock symbol party as a right step in the right direction pointing towards total victory, nothing that there are many roads to the Market and APGA remains a strong force in the State political equation with over four House of Assembly Aspirants and many more in different categories running under the platform of the party.
