The Police have arrested 24 suspects fora alleged cybercrime and other related offences.

They were nabbed for alleged involvement in online dating scams, generating and deployment of fake bank alerts, hacking and fraudulent wire transfers, cyber stalking and impersonation of high-profile personalities.

Among them was Henry Ushie, first arrested in 2017 by the IRT for impersonating the ACP Abba Kyari, the Commander IRT, on Facebook

He had got bail from the court but went back to same crime.

On Monday, a Police statement on Twitter, said operatives again arrested Henry, 30, a graduate of Statistics from Anambra State University.

Also arrested were his brothers Emmanuel Ushie, 23; and Matthew Ushie, 28, an OND graduate from Federal Polytechnic Oko.

The gang ran “a fake Frank Mba Foundation bank account with FCMB”.

They allegedly used “a fake Facebook account and defrauded Nigerians under the pretext that the foundation is raising money to help vulnerable Nigerians during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Police said Henry, identified as the leader, was arrested last Thursday at a hideout in Ihiala, Anambra State.

His siblings were apprehended afterwards.

The statement added all the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
