Darlon Lauds 5 Battalion, Elele Cantonment For Combating Illegal Bunkering In Niger Delta

The management of Darlon Oil and Gas Limited has commended officers and personnel of the 5 Battalion, Elele Cantonment, of the Nigerian Army, for their exceptional support in the fight against illegal crude oil bunkering activities in the Niger Delta, expecially in Bayelsa State.

The chairman of the company, Chief Levi Wilson, in letter of commendation to the military cantonment said that their contribution in restoring peace in the swamp area of Bayelsa State has to a large extent boosted the crude oil production revenue in Nigeria and Bayelsa State in particular.

Parts of the letter read “On behalf of Darlon Oil and Gas Limited, l am writing this letter to first of all thank the 5 Battalion, Elele Cantonment, of the Nigerian Army, for the exceptional services and support your soldiers have been giving to our company over the years.

“The level of intelligence, determination and overall enthusiasm MAJ. Y.S IDRIS (our Operations Officer) and SSGT AHMADU YAHAYA display in the field of operation have been most inspiring for other staff of the company and yielded meaningful results for us.

“Their role in fighting bunkering activities and contribution in restoring peace in the swamp area of Bayelsa State is highly professional and recommendable for us as a company whose sole mandate is to boost crude oil production revenue in Nigeria and Bayelsa State in particular.

“Also, it is with ought most sincerity that I wish to admit that they are very active in intelligence gathering and prompt in their intervention when it comes to issues of insecurity in swamp area of Bayelsa State. And their ability to communicate unique operational procedures to our staff is extremely outstanding.

“I must at this point state that our company is highly impressed with the quality of their
knowledge of the assignment and also thank the Commanding Officer, 5 Battalion, for role you have played in sanitizing the environment and adding value to the economy of Nigeria.
