…….It’s Now Clear That PDP had severally expressed fears to face the electorates by virtue of its undemocratic antecedents – Rt. Hon. Ebebi

The Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi Campaign Organisation for the Bayelsa West Senatorial bye-elections, earlier slated for 31st October, 2020 but postponed due to grave security concerns has called on all members of the party and the electorates to remain calm over the usual kangaroo judgement, delivered by the federal high court against the candidate of the party.

In a press statement signed by the Campaign Director General, Hon. Ofoni D. williams, the group has called on the APC larger family and the electorates in Bayelsa State and beyond in the said election not to be discouraged and dismayed by the federal court ruling entered against the party, based on the premise that the party had no valid primaries.

According to the APC Campaign Organization, they had envisaged such an ill-fated judgement and expected nothing less because the party is always aware in advance that it is the tradition of the court in question to deliver judgements of this Nature.

This is predicted on the ground that the said court had openly maintained functional nexus with the PDP-led government of Bayelsa State. It noted that the Federal high court in Yenagoa in the recent past had bracingly shown its unofficial capacity as an annex of Bayelsa State Government House.

In view of the above, the Director General noted that the party had approached the president of the federal high court to transfer the matter in order to forestall a repeat of such ugly experiences but was turned down for some obvious technical reasons.

Surprisingly, the matter that was instituted against the PDP candidate challenging his ellegibility to contest the election in question owing to several inconsistencies in his certificates was expeditiously transferred from Abuja to the same federal high court in Yenagoa, succinctly describes as the PDP “Father Christmas”.

The Director General of Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi Campaign Organisation, therefore, calls on all party members and the electorates to remain calm, even though, it serves as a part of their sinister plans to eschew open defeat in a free and fair electoral contest, which is a cog in the wheel of genuine democratic growth in Bayelsa State and beyond.

It will be recalled that the APC candidate of the 2019 governorship election in Bayelsa State, Chief David Lyon had similar judicial hiccups but immediately upturned at the appellate court, restored normalcy and openly defeated the PDP in the general elections.

Hon. Ofoni D. Williams, therefore passionately appeals to APC members to be assured that the party will go the full hug of the judiciary granding mill on the matter, as the legal team of the party has already been directed to do the needful in order to quash the judgement, because the APC still believes in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and the right way to address differences between parties in dispute.

The Director General equally noted that the hunter shall be hunted at last because it is clear that the PDP had severally expressed fears to face the electorates by virtue of its undemocratic antecedents ; hence, had always constructed false loopholes to win elections through unethical means in Bayelsa State.
