An Open Letter to Sen. Henry Seriake Dickson; Your Birthday, An Occasion to Separate Hallelujah Praise Singers & Real Friends

AN OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR HENRY SERIAKE DICKSON FORMER GOVERNOR OF BAYELSA STATE ON THE OCCASION OF HIS BIRTHDAY AND OCCASION TO SEPARATE HALLELUJAH PRAISE SINGERS AND REAL FRIENDS

Your Excellency Distinguished Senator Dickson,

On behalf of the Most Senior Comrade Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli Dynasty, I wish to facilitate and also celebrate with Your Excellency on the occasion of your Birthday.

Today is remarkable in so many ways but most significantly it is your first post-Governor tenure Birthday and the first as a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

But as significant as it appears, there are so many identifiable negative signals paramount among which is reflective in the very low or few numbers of goodwill Messages even on Social Media compared to what usually happened on 28th of January in the last 8years where leadership of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Members of the National Assembly from Bayelsa State, Commissioners, Special Advisers, other Political Appointees, Friends and Associates adorned your pictures and laced them with sycophantic and hypocritical Messages on National Dailies, Television Screens and Social Media Platforms.

Many even described you as Messiah and Jesus of Bayelsa State and surprisingly, you were so carried away. You speedily forgot your humble beginning and overtime, you deliberately trampled on all Ijaws without exception. Your Excellency deliberately disunited the Ijaw nation in your wishful attempt to super impose yourself as the leader and god of Ijaw nation. You deliberately destroyed the most revered IJAW NATIONAL CONGRESS (INC) and IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL (IYC). You sent your thugs to beat up Ijaw Elders and Leaders during INC election at Ijaw House in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State for rejecting your anointed Candidates.

Now I wish to ask Your Excellency some pertinent questions: are you proud of the way and manner you administered Bayelsa State during the 8years of your administration?

Are you happy that after 8years as Governor, you personally described Yenagoa as the Forest Capital after you promised to transform it to Dubai, Florida and others but after 8 infamous and inglorious years, there is no electricity, water, good roads and other basic social amenities and infrastructure?

Are you happy with the way and manner you treated our Civil Servants and Pensioners?

Are you happy that you deliberately refused to pay Students Bursary for 8 years?

Are you happy that you conceptualized and amplified the Slogan of Core Ijaw and Non-Core Ijaw just to divide, disunite, dehumanize and subjugate some sections of the Ijaw nation?

Are you happy that you instructed and also triggered the killing of countless innocent, armless and defenseless Ijaw youths who were massacred at Amassoma?

Are you happy that under your watch members of the opposition slept with one eye open for fear of the unknown and they were treated as endangered species?

Dear Senator Dickson, I am happy you now know that nothing truly last forever.

I am happy that you are seeing the high level of joy, pace, unity, freedom and fresh air Bayelsans are enjoying under your Successor prosperity Governor Douye Diri. I am happy you are seeing that we now have a new Bayelsa State where there is no PDP or APC, Core Ijaw or Non-Core Ijaw and the prevalence of other Primordial and Parochial sentiments that you promoted and held so sacredly.

But above all, you have realized that those of us who criticized you for 8years were never your enemies. We never hated you, rather we were your true lovers, admirers and supporters who wanted you to Succeed.

Where are the hallelujah praise Singers? Where are the Sycophants? Where are the Hypocrites? Where are those shameless leaders who were ready to give you their wives and girlfriends to sleep with to prove their loyalty?

As you celebrate this historic and memorable day, I urge you to make out a quiet time to do self introspection and also ponder about your real purpose in life especially relating to service to the Ijaw nation. Thereafter, try to do amend and restitution where and when necessary. Just imagine the humiliation and pains you would have been going through now because Multitudes no longer regard you even as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic.

I wish you a memorable Celebration once again and also pray that Almighty God will grant you divine health, unprecedented blessings and prosperity and above all, God’s continual guidance, guardian and protection.
